Who we are
OpenYear is operated by RegAtlas, LLC ("we", "us"), which is responsible for the information described here. This policy covers openyear.tax and the early-access list. How the OpenYear product handles books and documents is set out on the data and security page.
What we collect
When you apply for early access: your email address and, if you give them, the two answers on the form — how your business is taxed, and where your books are kept.
When you visit: the site counts its own visits — which page was loaded, the site or campaign tag that sent you, the country Cloudflare reports, and whether you started or sent the form. These counts record no IP address, no browser details and no identifier, so they can't be tied to you.
The origin of your visit is held in your browser's session storage until you close the tab, so an application can be counted by channel. The site sets no cookies.
What we never collect here
No tax returns, documents, identification numbers or financial figures. The site doesn't accept them, and the form has no field that could hold them.
How we use it
- To write to you about early access and the first owner cohort.
- To decide which kinds of business to open to first.
- To see whether the site is working — how many people arrive, from where, and how many apply.
We don't sell your information, share it for advertising, or use it for anything else.
Who processes it
Cloudflare hosts the site and the database the list is kept in. Like any host, Cloudflare handles your connection in order to serve the site; we don't store your IP address. There are no third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
How long we keep it
Your early-access entry is kept until OpenYear opens to you or you ask us to remove it. Visit counts are kept until we delete them; they contain nothing that identifies you.
Your choices
You can ask to see the entry we hold for you, correct it, or have it deleted, by writing tohello@openyear.tax. We'll do it and confirm.
Children
The site is for business owners. It isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the effective date above.
